FAQs for Final Round of RoboTryst-2014 at IIT-Delhi

 

What is Robotryst?
Robotryst is a National Level Championship which is organized by Robosapiens Technologies Pvt. Ltd. in association with Tryst, IIT Delhi. It is being organized for the past 4 years and in the year 2014, RoboTryst-2014 is launched with its 5th edition.
When is RoboTryst-2014 scheduled to be held?
RoboTryst-2014 is organized in different stages. The zonal rounds have been commenced from the month of August, 2013 and the final round is decided to be organized during Tryst-2014 in association with Tryst, IIT Delhi from 26th February, 2014 to 1st March, 2014.
What is Tryst?
Tryst is the Annual Technical festival of IIT-Delhi. Every year it is organized by the end of February or the start of March.
Is RoboTryst-2014 open to general public?
RoboTryst-2014 has different event organized in it. Some of the events are public and some are for winner participants of our zonal rounds. To know about specific details visit the ‘Contact Us’ page and contact on the details provided.
What is RoboTryst-2014 open round?
For those candidates who couldn’t participate at the zonal rounds of RoboTryst-2014 can now be a part of the final round of RoboTryst-2014. There is an open round for RoboTryst-2014 which will be organized in IIT-Delhi campus. From this open round 2 teams will be given spot in the Top 20 teams for RoboTryst-2014.
Is there any registration fees for the final round of RoboTryst-2014?
If you belong to the 1st winner team then your final round registration will be done free of cost. The rest of the participants need to pay the final round registration fees of Rs. 300/- per participant.
Where will the final round registration fees be collected?
The final round registration fees will be collected on the spot at IIT-Delhi campus RoboTryst registration desk.
I haven’t participated at any of the zonal round of RoboTryst-2014; can I participate at the final round?
Yes, along with RoboTryst-2014 final round we have an open round of RoboTryst-2014. 2 teams will be given a spot in the Top 20 finalist teams.

Is there any registration fees for the open round of RoboTryst-2014?
Yes, the registration fees for the open round of RoboTryst-2014 is Rs. 500/- per participant.
What is the maximum and minimum team size for the teams participating in the final and open rounds of IIT-Delhi?
The team size for RoboTryst-2014 final round is minimum 1 member and maximum 5 members. But it is advisable to get a team of 5 members.   
Who is RoboTryst actually for? Kids? Undergrads? Post Grads? Adults?
RoboTryst has something in it for everyone. It is an event which collaborates everyone removing the age barrier. This is where everyone is considered equal regardless not only of their age but also their gender, color, caste and creed.
Will engineering students be able to participate in the other events?
During RoboTryst, there will be other events as well under the banner of Tryst. Engineering students could participate in numerous other on-going events over there. There would also be lectures by imminent personalities.
Will I get a ‘Certificate’ from RoboTryst at IIT-Delhi?
Every participant of the final round of RoboTryst-2014 (Zonal Round Winner)at IIT-Delhi will get a ‘Certificate of Honor’.
Do I need to do an online registration?
No, you need not do any online registration to participate in the events of RoboTryst-2014. In case you require hospitality from our side you need to make your corresponding online payment for hospitality from our website.   
How is Delhi weather? Do I need to carry jacket and quilts?
Well it is advisable to get your winter clothing with you. For your reference here is the temperature variation during the days of RoboTryst.

Will there be hospitality from the organizer’s side?
Yes, hospitality is provided by us but it is paid hospitality. The interested participants who want to avail hospitality can make their corresponding payment online from our site www.robotryst.com
What kind of food will be available at RoboTryst-2014?
The food to be made available to the participants will be healthy and nutritious. The ones availing hospitality will be provided food from our side.
The best way to come to RoboTryst is with a full mind and an empty stomach.
When will prizes and certificates be awarded?
All the prizes and certificates will be provided on 1st March, 2014.
Can I leave and re-enter the fest?
Yes, you can leave and re-enter the festival if you have the ID card provided to you.
Will there be ATM’s, Banks, Drug Stores, Mobile Recharge?
Yes. All the amenities are available but you can make arrangements beforehand for these mentioned.

I am a finalist of RoboTryst with 5 members in my team but only 2 can come to participate for the final round, what should I do?
Yes, you can participate at RoboTryst-2014 final rounds. You can accumulate 3 other participants who are interested to participate with you at the final round of RoboTryst-2014. In case you belong to the 1st winner team then the extra 3 members will have pay the final round registration fees.
I am the principal of a college where the zonal round of RoboTryst-2014 was organized. 3 teams were chosen for the final round but there are more teams who are interested for the final round of RoboTryst-2014. What can I do regarding this?
Normally we only allow 3 teams from a particular zonal center but this year we have received the same concern from various centers so we have included a new referral policy. The policy states that any zonal center college can refer / nominate 2 teams (5 members each) from their college irrespective whether those nominated candidates have participated in the zonal rounds of RoboTryst-2014 or not. This is a special privilege offered to our Zonal Center Colleges.
What documents do the zonal center college referred / nominated students need to provide?
The zonal center college nominated participants need to provide a document on their college letterhead with seal and signature of the Director / Dean / H.O.D / T.P.O stating the specific details of the nominated teams like their name and College ID No. Students without this letter will not be allowed to participate.
Which team should the college nominate / refer?
The college can choose any team they want to refer but it is advisable to refer the team that actually deserves it.
Is there any registration fees for the RoboTryst-2014 open round participants?
Yes there is a registration fees for the open round participants. The registration fees is Rs. 500/- per participant.
Is there any registration fees for the referred / nominated participants from the zonal center college?  
Yes there is a registration fees for the nominated / referred participants from the zonal center college. The registration fees is Rs. 400/- per participant.
Is there any registration fees for the zonal round winners of RoboTryst-2014?
The 1st winner team has no registration fees. The registration fees for the 2nd & 3rd team is Rs. 300/- per participant.
Can a zonal center winner team participate in the open round of RoboTryst-2014?
Yes, a zonal round winner team can participate in the open round of RoboTryst-2014 but they would have to pay the registration fees of Rs. 500/- per participant.
I am a zonal winner and willing to come to IIT-Delhi for the final round but my parents want to accompany me. What should I do about their hospitality?
In such case you can contact us on the details mentioned on the contact us page. We will provide hospitality for them as well but charges as mentioned on the http://www.robotryst.com/hospitality.php will be applicable.
If I receive accommodation outside IIT, Delhi campus do I need to arrange local transport on my own?
Under such case we would provide pick and drop facility for outside IIT, Delhi campus accommodation students. But the pick and drop will be scheduled i.e. pick up in the morning and drop at night.
